A date override replaces your normal weekly hours on the dates you choose. Use one to close a holiday or to open a day you usually don't work. ## Prerequisites - A schedule in your account. Every user starts with one default schedule. - The dates you want to change, and the hours you want on them. ## Steps ### Step 1: Open your schedule Select **Availability** in the sidebar, then open the schedule you want to change. The schedule page lists your weekly hours and a **Date overrides** section below them. ![Open your schedule](https://cal.supportpages.io/rails/active_storage/blobs/proxy/eyJfcmFpbHMiOnsiZGF0YSI6ODIxOCwicHVyIjoiYmxvYl9pZCJ9fQ==--915add48a2e9ccda437f204b2c93f3f42894ffa1/block_open-your-schedule.png) ### Step 2: Add an override In the **Date overrides** section, click **Add an override**. The **Select the dates to override** dialog opens. ![Add an override](https://cal.supportpages.io/rails/active_storage/blobs/proxy/eyJfcmFpbHMiOnsiZGF0YSI6ODIzMywicHVyIjoiYmxvYl9pZCJ9fQ==--4f85d5e8ab7ec0bef66d474bb6c5a19b0b6c3f7f/block_add-an-override.png) ### Step 3: Choose the dates Click a date in the calendar. To override several days at once, click each additional date before you save; the same hours apply to all of them. ![Choose the dates](https://cal.supportpages.io/rails/active_storage/blobs/proxy/eyJfcmFpbHMiOnsiZGF0YSI6ODI1NSwicHVyIjoiYmxvYl9pZCJ9fQ==--fc52277f125f9f36b0e605ab4b3f7f0a6d3fb516/block_choose-the-dates.png) ### Step 4: Set the hours Enter the hours you want to offer on that date under **Which hours are you free?**. To add a second block of time, click the plus icon (**Add new time slot**). To close the day instead, turn on **Mark unavailable (All day)** — the time fields are replaced by **Unavailable all day**. ![Set the hours](https://cal.supportpages.io/rails/active_storage/blobs/proxy/eyJfcmFpbHMiOnsiZGF0YSI6ODMxMSwicHVyIjoiYmxvYl9pZCJ9fQ==--3e4f9d58632ce1cd3fc5e60eaa0f5957a5170e55/step_3.png) ### Step 5: Save the override Click **Save override**. The dialog closes and the date is saved to the schedule. ![Save the override](https://cal.supportpages.io/rails/active_storage/blobs/proxy/eyJfcmFpbHMiOnsiZGF0YSI6ODMxMiwicHVyIjoiYmxvYl9pZCJ9fQ==--24b06b3098fb44a9034105614c3dc724c79d5606/step_4.png) ### Step 6: Check your overrides The date now appears in the **Date overrides** list with its hours, or with **Unavailable** if you blocked the whole day. Use the **Edit** pencil on a row to change an override, or **Delete** to remove it. Overrides are archived automatically after the date has passed. ![Check your overrides](https://cal.supportpages.io/rails/active_storage/blobs/proxy/eyJfcmFpbHMiOnsiZGF0YSI6ODMxMywicHVyIjoiYmxvYl9pZCJ9fQ==--e05bc5278c16a886a298524cf5dcfae763bb84fc/step_5.png) ## Tips - Turn **Mark unavailable (All day)** off to reopen a date that you normally don't work. - Overrides apply to the schedule only. If you share several schedules, add the override to each one. - A date override outranks your weekly hours for that date, so you don't need to change your regular schedule. ## Summary Add a date override from the **Date overrides** section of any schedule: pick the dates, set the hours or mark the day unavailable, and save. The override is archived once the date has passed.
