Round-robin scheduling rotates incoming bookings across the members of your team, so no single person gets overloaded. It is a setting on a team event type, and you configure it in the **Assignment** tab. ## Prerequisites - A team with at least two members. - Permission to create and edit event types for that team. - A team event type to configure, or the ability to create a new one. ## Steps ### Step 1: Open your team's event types Go to **Event types** and select your team from the tabs at the top of the page. Click **New**, then choose your team from the **Create event on** list. ![Open your team's event types](https://cal.supportpages.io/rails/active_storage/blobs/proxy/eyJfcmFpbHMiOnsiZGF0YSI6ODQ0MSwicHVyIjoiYmxvYl9pZCJ9fQ==--9af7cbc98f19768ba073d07adba851e7d9c4d276/block_open-event-types.png) ### Step 2: Set the assignment type In the **Add a new team event type** dialog, enter a **Title** and a **URL**. Under **Assignment**, select **Round robin**, then click **Continue**. ![Set the assignment type](https://cal.supportpages.io/rails/active_storage/blobs/proxy/eyJfcmFpbHMiOnsiZGF0YSI6ODQ0MCwicHVyIjoiYmxvYl9pZCJ9fQ==--215f1c34cf785a1a98accec5e7cfb2cdcca385e7/block_create-team-event-type.png) ### Step 3: Confirm the scheduling type You land on the **Assignment** tab with **Scheduling type** already set to **Round robin**. Under **Distribution**, choose **Maximize availability** to fill as many bookable slots as possible, or **Load balancing** to keep the number of bookings even across hosts. ![Confirm the scheduling type](https://cal.supportpages.io/rails/active_storage/blobs/proxy/eyJfcmFpbHMiOnsiZGF0YSI6ODQzNCwicHVyIjoiYmxvYl9pZCJ9fQ==--d90df99b5beb7c9c3f728a8326dcaebf2c2a0cbd/block_confirm-scheduling-type.png) ### Step 4: Add your round-robin hosts Under **Round-robin hosts**, open the **Add a member** menu and select the team members who should take turns. Switch on **Enable weights** if some hosts should receive more bookings than others. Click **Save** at the top right of the page to apply the change. ![Add your round-robin hosts](https://cal.supportpages.io/rails/active_storage/blobs/proxy/eyJfcmFpbHMiOnsiZGF0YSI6ODQ0MiwicHVyIjoiYmxvYl9pZCJ9fQ==--85f3508eb71e63b7e385715c6216cb7da8193f47/block_add-round-robin-hosts.png) ## Tips - Round robin is available only on team event types. Personal event types use your own availability alone. - Use **Fixed hosts** for people who must attend every booking, such as an account manager, alongside the round-robin hosts. - Switch on **Include no show bookings in round robin calculations** if bookings that were never attended should still count toward a host's share. - Turn on **Filter by attributes** under **Round-robin hosts** to limit rotation to members who match a specific attribute. ## Summary Your team event type now rotates bookings across the hosts you selected. Return to the **Assignment** tab at any time to add or remove hosts, change the distribution method, or adjust weights.
